On July 21, 2007, people around the world picked up Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and settled in for this final installment of our favorite kid wizard and his dangerous exploits in the British Wizarding World. Within days, there was an influx of raised eyebrows and a general consensus of "WTF, JKR?" when we all reached The Epilogue.
NextGen Big Bang is a not-so-direct reaction to the events of Deathly Hallows and, particularly, The Epilogue itself. The goal—like the Big Bangs of yore: Big Bang, Baby, Supernatural and J-Squared Big Bang Challenge and others—is to write a 20,000(+) word novella set in the post-war/pre-epilogue world, or the Next Generation possibilities. Writers write the stories, of course, and artists will create original pieces to go with the stories they’ve chosen.
